JAY’S SUPER BREAKFAST MIX

I use five non gluten type seed/grains as the base for most of my meals.  They are organic buckwheat and oat groats, basmati brown rice, Amaranth and Quinoa.  For simplicity sake, they will be referred to as “Jay’s Mix” I recommend using this combination in all meals that you wish to contain grains. (Groats are just the whole seed, as an example, rolled oats are just sliced oat groats that have been steam cooked which makes them edible without further cooking as most of us do, so in reality you could just add water and eat them).

YOU CAN BUY THESE AT NEW LIFE HEALTH CENTER AND ARE PREPARED AS FOLLOWS:

Using a large jar with lid, add ¾ cup of oat groats, 1 cup each of Amaranth, quinoa and basmati brown rice plus 1 ½ cups of buckwheat groats.  Add clean water, add a couple of slices of lemon or lime and soak for a minimum of 4-6 hours (This removes phytates that hamper mineral assimilation).   Drain soaking water and rinse thoroughly.  Place this in a pot and add approx 8 cups of purified water.  Bring to a boil, then turning the heat down to just above simmer add a glass lid half cocked to release steam and cook for approx 20 mins.  Please don’t over cook, you will see vent holes on the surface with no water showing but they should be moist.  Move pot to an adjacent burner and let cool with lid totally covering it.  Store in air tight containers and refrigerate.  Be creative in using these Seed/Grains! I use Vacu Vin food storage jars that utilizes a manual vacuum pump to remove any air in the containers.  (Available on Amazon.com) Here is a link for them-

Add enough clean water to make into smoothie consistency.  This mixture is very good at supplying important antioxidants, mostly low glycemic carbs, soluble and insoluble fiber to start your day, plus key ingredients in helping combat inflammation and diseases of all types. Combining this with exercise that doesn't exceed 30 to 45 mins per session (over exercising creates inflammation and is counter productive health wise).  Plus, avoiding poor food choices will help maintain a healthy weight. Makes 2 servings.  You could drink this in the morning and save the second serving in a two cup Snapple size  bottle for after work snack. (It will get really thick because of the seeds that expand so fill 3/4 full and add water when ready).

As an example, here is a video link on how just selenium alone combats disease of which this meal is rich in-

1  CONTAINER OF BLACK MISSION FIGS (MUST SOAK IN ITS ON CONTAINER MINIMUM 1 HR) - TRADER JOE'S

3/4  CUP OF SEEDLESS DATES

2  FRESH MANGOS (OR 1 BASKET OF STRAWBERRIES OR 3 CUPS OF BLUEBERRIES OR FRUIT IN SEASON ETC)

1/4  CUP OF FROZEN CALCIUM FORTIFIED ORANGE JUICE CONCENTRATE

1/4  CUP OF MACADAMIA NUT OIL BLEND (HIGHEST IN MONOUNSATURATED) NEW LIFE HEALTH CENTER

1/4  CUP OF SHREDDED COCONUT- NEW LIFE HEALTH CENTER

1/3  CUP EACH OF WALNUTS, ALMONDS, BRAZIL NUTS, CASHEWS, PECANS, PUMPKIN/SUNFLOWER SEED MIX - COSTCO & NEW LIFE HEALTH CENTER

1 CUP OF GOAT YOGURT

2  CUPS OF ORGANIC OAT/BUCKWHEAT GROATS - NEW LIFE HEALTH CENTER

ADD 5 GRAMS OF VITAMIN C (FROM CAPSULS) - NEW LIFE HEALTH CENTER

USE ROLLED OATS OR WHOLE BROWN SESAME SEEDS AS THE BAR SHELL AFTER YOU ROLL THE MIXTURE

Buy 1 container of Black Mission figs at Trader Joe's and remove the stems, then soak them in their own container minimum 1 hour (add water to container with the figs in there). I use an Omega 8002 vegetable/fruit juicer/grinder to make a puree out of the soaked figs and place this batch in a bowl. Do the same with 1 cup of seedless dates. Add 1/4 cup of macadamia nut oil Blend and 1/4 cup of calcium fortified Orange Juice concentrate to mixture, stir with wooden spatula. Add 5 grams of vitamin C (from capsuls).  Now for the fun part, while the ingredients I just mentioned will always be the base for the bar, the true flavor can be varied with anything you wish, as an example, a couple of bananas or my personal favorite, a small basket of pureed strawberries, or a couple of mangos. Grind 1/4 cup each of Almonds, Walnuts, Brazil Nuts, Sunflower/ Pumpkin seed mixture in a food processor (chop so they are broken up but still chunky).  Add whey protein powder.  Add 2 cups of raw organic Oatmeal (Rolled Oats) and mix in with spatula.  Finally, grab some of this mixture and form a roll about the size of a Snicker's bar and roll that in some whole brown sesame seeds or rolled oats to act as a shell for the bar. I use a roll of plastic wrap to seal each one and freeze them. Use as needed. The Figs are a key to the whole process, it makes an awesome base that has lots of both soluble and insoluble fiber and very alkaline. Delicious! Below are some links related to the development of this bar.  This is a high carb bar that you can utilize on biking rides or when you are working physically hard outside or exercising.  If you are rushed in the morning to go to work, grab one, it will get you going til lunch!
